About this poster

The master of Swiss poster art Emil Cardinaux had a talent for using strong colours to give images a special atmosphere. His advertisements for brands and businesses used narratives to capture and entertain viewers. On this original 1911 poster for the former Fehlbaum fashion store on Kramgasse in Bern, Cardinaux shows a mischievous boy who is about to throw snowballs at the little group of girls. The girls, however, have nothing to fear, for they are wearing warm winter coats from Fehlbaum.
