For about a century, the Jecklin music store in Zurich was an important address for anything a musician could wish for, as this simple and effective 1919 poster by Otto Baumberger shows. The store was founded by Peter Jecklin in 1895 and taken over by its competitor “Musik Hug” in 2003. In 2017 the last original Jecklin store in Zurich had to close its doors.

Otto Baumberger was born in Zurich in 1889. He served an apprenticeship as a lithographer and took courses at the Zurich Art School (Kunstgewerbeschule) from 1905 to 1907.
