The initiator and organiser Niklaus Troxler designed the announcement poster for the Willisau Jazz concert at the Hotel Mohren in 1987. An impressive poster entitled New York Jazz was created by Troxler for the concert with quitarist Bill Frisel and trumpeter Herb Robertson.

Niklaus Toxler, born 1947, lives and works in Willisau, Lucerne.
He was trained in typography and graphic design at the art school in Lucerne; from 1967 to 1971 he worked as an art director in Paris; in 1973 he opened his studio for graphic design in Willisau, where he mainly works for cultural and music events, like the Willisau Jazz Festival, which he founded.
