In December 1979, the British jazz musician Michael John Davis Westbrook played with his band at the Hotel Mohren Willisau, for whose concert the initiator Niklaus Troxler created a luminous poster. Mike Westbrook's bass band also performed several times at the Montreux Jazz Festival.

Niklaus Toxler, born 1947, lives and works in Willisau, Lucerne.
He was trained in typography and graphic design at the art school in Lucerne; from 1967 to 1971 he worked as an art director in Paris; in 1973 he opened his studio for graphic design in Willisau, where he mainly works for cultural and music events, like the Willisau Jazz Festival, which he founded.
