Maria João Monteiro Grancha (b. 1956) is a Portuguese jazz singer known for her vocal flexibility and improvisational talent. At the jazz concert in Willisau, she was accompanied by the female Japanese jazz pianist and composer Aki Takase (b. 1948). The announcement poster for the 1988 concert was designed by the organiser and graphic artist Niklaus Troxler.

He was trained in typography and graphic design at the art school in Lucerne; from 1967 to 1971 he worked as an art director in Paris; in 1973 he opened his studio for graphic design in Willisau, where he mainly works for cultural and music events, like the Willisau Jazz Festival, which he founded.
