About this poster

The colourful poster from 1986 leaves no bounds to the enthusiasm of former Willisau jazz fans. Niklaus Troxler's poster for the US jazz musicians 29th Street Saxohone Quartet is unique in its wealth of ideas and visual design. The Twenty-Ninth Street Saxophone Quartet was formed in the early 1980s when baritone saxophonist Jim Hartog met altoist Ed Jackson at the New England Conservatory in Boston; the name refers to the street where Hartog's flat was located, where the first rehearsals took place.
