About this poster

Gessler’s hat in front of the Bernese Alps: using a key prop from the play “William Tell” in front of the local scenery, Alex Diggelmann effectively advertised the Tell open-air theatre performances in Interlaken. The design was reused several times from the 1930s to the 1950s.
