About this poster
Swiss designer Hugo Laubi used picturesque subjects to advertise various Swiss travel destinations. In the message for the promotion of "Herisau in the green Appenzell", Laubi relied on traditional values with the farmer in an Appenzell traditional costume and visualised the green Appenzell landscape with the Säntis mountain range in the background. Perfect colour lithograph from 1946.

Hugo Laubi was born in 1888 in Zurich, where he worked as an illustrator, painter and graphic artist until he died in 1959. He studied in Munich and Paris and worked as a graphic artist in London in 1911. In 1918 he became the director of the printing and lithography company Gebr.
