About this poster
The Grand Café Astoria in Zurich was located in the building that today has the house number 1 on Nüschelerstrasse, on the corner with St. Peterstrasse. It existed from at least 1916 until the 1930s. People could linger in the café, attend concerts and other artistic performances, play billiards or enjoy fine food in the "Bündnerstube". The operator of the Grand Café Astoria, A. Gredig, apparently also organised carnival balls, which were advertised with this poster. Attractive original Art Deco poster and a historical document from Zurich's cultural and gastronomy history.
