About this poster

In 1941, the exhibition ‘Us üsem Bode’ was held in the Tonhalle St. Gallen to inform the population about the so-called ‘Anbauwerk’. The aim was to plant as many plots of land as possible with potatoes and vegetables in order to increase the level of self-sufficiency as part of the wartime “Wahlen plan”. The agricultural exhibitions of the war period were the forerunners of today's OLMA. This original poster for the exhibition shows a lovingly detailed depiction of meadow flowers.
