The painter and graphic artist Tomamichel came from Bosco Gurin in Southern Switzerland. In 1914 he began an apprenticeship at the Annen Graphic Studio in Zurich. In 1925 he continued his training as a painter in Paris. He then began his career as an independent graphic artist in Zurich, working for clients such as Knorr, Globus and Nestlé.
