About this poster
An object poster masterpiece by the Basle Artist Birkhauser who created this most stunning for the Italian Brandy Company FERNET BRANCA. Digestifs are served in this kind of glass for its quantity. Again this object poster is especially suited to the lithograph printing technique, where brilliant color and richness in textures could be achieved to make an object or a product look real. The Basel poster designers had a passion for this style, perhaps because it appealed to their love of precision, but also because the message could be understood by everyone - not a simple task in a country with four national languages.

Peter BIRKHÄUSER was born in Basel in 1911 and died there in 1976. He studied at the Basel School of Design and apprenticed in the studio of Niklaus Stoecklin before setting out on his own as a poster designer.
