About this poster
In 1927, the owner of the spa hotel in Elm (Glarus) invented Elmer Citro by adding lemon flavouring to the local spring water. Elmer Citro soon became a favourite and remains one of the most iconic Swiss soft drinks. This early poster advertisement by the renowned designer Carl Franz Moos from the 1930s shows St. Fridolin from the Glarus flag catching fresh spring water in his cup. This inventive logo can still be found on the Elmer Citro labels to this day.
