About this poster
The lovely landscapes between Lake Constance and the Appenzellerland present a picture-book image of Switzerland. In summer, the meadows and forests are a lush green, and on winter evenings it is utterly romantic to ride through the rolling hills covered in snow. The sensitive painter Wilhelm F. Burger captured the special mood of this landscape in his poster from 1922.

Wilhelm Friedrich Burger was born in Zurich in 1882. He apprenticed as a lithographer and then studied at the Zurich school of arts and crafts and at the academy in Karlsruhe.
