About this poster
In 1949, while working as a freelance graphic designer, Walter Sigg created this poster for the Parsenn funicular in the Grisons, which was built specifically for winter sport tourists. Featuring the idyllic winter landscape of Davos, this poster is perfectly lithographed and very rare.

Walter Sigg was born in Biel and studied graphic design at the Zurich School of Applied Arts (Kunstgewerbeschule). First he worked at Orell Füssli, then as chief graphic designer at a Swiss advertising agency before going freelance in 1946. Two of his best clients were the Farner PR agency and the Swiss national lottery. Walter Sigg died in 1989 in Zurich.
