Armin Hofmann designed brilliant posters such as this image for the City Theatre Basel in 1963. He taught at the Basel School of Design from 1946 to 1986 and with his colleagues contributed to the development of the Swiss International Style. Hofmann is well known for his use of black-and-white images and for his skill in conveying a message with the simplest of forms.
