One of the most spectacular of all Cappiello designs, this image elevates CONTRATTO champagne! The Livorno native Leonetto Cappiello settled in Paris in the 1920s and became the most famous poster designer of his generation in France, following in the footsteps of Chéret and Toulouse-Lautrec. His design for Contratto champagne, one of his most spectacular, was originally lithographed in three different formats.

Leonetto Cappiello was born in 1875 in Livorno, Italy and died in 1942 in Cannes, France. In 1898 he moved to Paris and became known through his caricatures of famous artists of the time, such as Yvette Guilbert.
