About this poster
Braunwald in the canton of Glarus started developing into an important health resort from the 1850s. In 1907, a funicular railway was opened to take guests up the mountain. Braunwald is still known and loved today as a car-free resort. This original poster from the 1950s emphasises the great importance of the railway for access to the picturesque mountain world.
