About this poster
Like on this remarkable object poster created by the famous Basel poster designer Peter Birkhauser, the colors are again brilliant, the textures very rich and, as they were printed in lithograph technique, the poster achieves to make this man’s shoe look real. Birkhauser who had a very strong passion for a graphic style of precision and the difficult airbrush technique, created a few remarkable and unique object posters for the shoe brand BATA. Brown Loafer for men were very fashionable after Second World War and as the unique message tells us, light as feather, for a price of Swiss Francs 27.90 !

Peter BIRKHÄUSER was born in Basel in 1911 and died there in 1976. He studied at the Basel School of Design and apprenticed in the studio of Niklaus Stoecklin before setting out on his own as a poster designer.
