About this poster

Herbert Leupin was the ideal designer to effectively implement the advertising campaigns of the shoe brand Bata for two decades. Sandals did not cost ten Swiss francs during the war years, the socks for them around one franc. The photo poster was printed as a perfect colour lithograph at Wolfsberg and is a testimony to a bygone era.

Herbert LEUPIN was born in Beinwil am See in 1916. He lived in Basel and later in his life he moved to the Italian part of Switzerland, where he died in 1999.
