About this poster
This creative poster designed in the early 1930s by the famous Swiss painter Alois Carigiet features just a woman in a very short red sports costume gliding happily down a snowy slope on her skis – a clear and simple message to advertise the winter resort of Arosa.
Artist: Alois Carigiet
The famous Swiss artist Alois Carigiet was born in 1902 in Trun, Grisons, where he died in 1985. Carigiet worked as a painter, designed a number of books for children, including the famous „Schellen-Ursli“, and became a freelance graphic designer in 1939. Carigiet also designed several travel and product posters. In 1960, he moved back to his native village of Trun in Grisons.
