Chocolat Tobler AG was a famous Swiss chocolate manufacturer in Berne. Jean Tobler had opened his own chocolate shop in 1867 and in 1899, he founded the ‘Fabrique de Chocolat Berne, Tobler & Cie.’ with his sons. In 1908, Theodor Tobler and Emil Baumann developed the triangular Toblerone, their most successful and most famous product. In 1970, the company merged with Chocolat Suchard S.A. Different names it carried in the course of time are Suchard-Tobler, Jacobs-Suchard-Tobler and Kraft-Jacobs-Suchard. Today, Tobler belongs to Kraft Foods.
