The Bernhard & Co cannery was founded in the building on Industriestrasse in 1886. From 1891 it was called Schweizerische Armee-Conservenfabrik Bernhard & Co. From 1916 to 1925 the company was known as Conserven-Fabrik Rorschach AG. This gave rise to the Roco brand, which is known throughout Switzerland. At harvest time, the company employed 250 people, otherwise 150. In 1934, the first industrially produced canned ravioli were produced. In 1942, Roco was integrated into the newly founded Frisco Kühlobst & Gemüse AG and the first frozen products under the Frisco brand were launched. Eleven years later, the invention and introduction of the Findus brand followed, which is still well-known and successful today. In 1981, the Roco brand was taken over by Hero.
