Niklaus Troxler
Niklaus Toxler, born 1947, lives and works in Willisau, Lucerne.
He was trained in typography and graphic design at the art school in Lucerne; from 1967 to 1971 he worked as an art director in Paris; in 1973 he opened his studio for graphic design in Willisau, where he mainly works for cultural and music events, like the Willisau Jazz Festival, which he founded.
He has won several awards such as the Poster of the Year from the Art Director Clubs in Switzerland, New York and Tokyo. Several of his posters are part of the design collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. He has been the winner of the Toulouse-Lautrec gold medal and various 1st prizes at exhibitions in Poland, Mexico City and the USA. He is a member of AGI.
