Georg Staehelin

Georg Staehelin was born in Basel in 1942 and lived and worked in the Zurich region. Trained at the Basel School of Design; worked in Paris, Amsterdam and London. Since 1977 he has run his own studio for visual design. Important works in his oeuvre include the visual identity for Bally International, the St. Gallen fashion company Akris, Wohnbedarf AG Zurich, the furniture manufacturer Lehni and posters for the Basel and Zurich museums of design.

Georg Staehelin’s work has been honoured several times, including in the competitions ‘The Most Beautiful Swiss Books’ and ‘Swiss Poster of the Year’. He was awarded gold at the 16th Poster Biennale in Warsaw in 1998. Georg Staehlin died in 2023.
